When Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, Ken Mask’s studio space faced severe flooding. As the waters receded and the restoration began, the removal of carpets revealed a paint-splattered floor dating back to the 1940s—a canvas in itself. This discovery sparked a renewed artistic journey, inspiring Mask to revisit his early career in the arts, this time with a new vision.

Embracing the improvisational spirit of jazz, Mask launched his “Jazz Period Series,” a bold exploration of rhythm, color, and fluid motion. Each piece captures the dynamic essence of jazz, blending spontaneous brushstrokes with the vibrancy of New Orleans’ storied music culture.

We are proud to present this intimate collection, an ode to resilience, artistry, and the enduring rhythm of creativity.
